Farm Bureau Grass Roots Involvement

Farm Bureau's grassroots policy development process gives members the opportunity to participate and voice their concerns regarding issues pertinent to the agricultural industry. With the climate and energy discussion, many facets of agriculture and MFB policies are impacted. As the policy development process unfolds at the local level this summer, be sure to research the advancements made in the climate and energy discussion.

Farm Bureau policy remains focused on energy independence and the development of a comprehensive energy policy, and does not support legislation or initiatives that involve GHG.

  1. With the breadth of topics being discussed and introduced, how does the combination of energy and GHG discussion impact agriculture?
  2. How should Farm Bureau approach and/or engage in the policy and rule discussions on energy and GHG emissions?
  3. How should Farm Bureau approach and/or engage in the discussion on energy and GHG?
  4. Should Farm Bureau support initiatives to help farmers adapt to a changing climate (e.g., research on pest control)?
