Enter the 2014 ‘Proud Farmer’ Calendar Photo Contest

Proud Farmers

You have until May 1 to enter the 9th annual Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) calendar photo contest!

The 2014 theme is “Proud Farmers.” Photos should capture farmers of all ages doing what they do best. Any farm setting with people pictured will be accepted.

Twelve winning photos will be chosen. One lucky winner will receive a prize valued at $100 and have his or her photo featured on the cover!

Flexibility needed for career technical education

Comcast Newsmakers recently interviewed Michigan Farm Bureau (MFB) Legislative Counsel Rebecca Park to learn why MFB is pushing for reforms to the Michigan Merit Curriculum that would give students more flexibility to take career technical education courses.

MFB says the current one-size-fits-all structure needs to be changed to help students better prepare for jobs in demand.

You may know Michigan Farm Bureau as the state's largest general farm organization but at the core it's a grass-roots organization centered on its membership base—farmers!

Now is the time of year when county Farm Bureaus conduct volunteer membership campaigns to help grow and sustain Farm Bureau membership by speaking with others in their communities about the many benefits of belonging to Farm Bureau.
